[FREE SPEED] Can A World Cup Mechanic Make Me Faster? ⏱
I am 70, I had 4 heart attacks and 4yrs ago my cardiologist advised me to get an e-bike. Reason being I can use the e-assistance when going into wind on the flat or riding uphill. I live close to Alps and I find easy trails to be a great boost to my well being. So an e-bike set me free no more heart attacks
I'm 26 and really only started mountain biking a little over a year ago.
I use my 2006 kona stinky on a daily basis and I'm 27 living in newport Wales have fun daily
Hi All. I was the hack/bodge winner this week! Dunno where you got the weird code for me. Anywho. 59 and my girlfriend and I (she tells me she’s 28😉). Got into downhill a year ago! Love it and head out every weekend…. I think it’s a combination of disposable income and time available. And of course attitude.
Suddenly Martyn gets a hair cut and trims his beard and he looks 10 years younger. I wish it worked that way for me at 52 and still riding strong.
36 fresh... I start at 26 on 26" hardtail custom made ride xc. After 2 years made some upgrade and turn it into more trail capable and ride trails on it. Many times on edge of this bike 😅 At begining of covid save some cash and after 2 years of research buy enduro full sus 29" with 160 front and 150 rear.
In Australia it is illegal to ride without a helmet.
So hopefully less E-bike ads now hey with the switch back?
I'm 48 and just hit BPW for the first time. Loved it. Last week I met a 71 y/o in the local woods still shredding (on eeb) .
I have always rode mountain bikes grown up, some Saracen's around the Raw dual suspension days 😂. Got into it properly when I was 22/23 and haven't stopped 41 now and still love playing about in the woods
Well turning 60 this Year, the Emtb got me really ON again, started in the early -90 Riding more than ever 😁
56 on steel. Riding FoD this weekend. I feel like such a cliché :-)
Well, I'm 62 and seeing how more I ride ta my younger friends I'd say it's the spare time that allows me to do that 🙂
Two gnomes on a bike.
Woo hoo, stunt mug no.2 for me. I'll contact you on FB again
South Africa. Raced road in my late teens and 20's. Went off it for a few years and came back to mountain biking. Mostly trail and marathon at the age of 53.
Im 34 and had to pick up MTB since my 6 year old son is riding with the local cycling club. He have started to compete on local events and he's even watching Hardline and Schurter videos to improve his game
Tell us what changed as far as content direction is concerned.
I live in a mountain town in Colorado, U.S. I'm 52yrs. & have been riding most of my life. We have a winter sports club for the kids, that has mountain biking classes in the summer. I feel like the amount of young kids learning here in this ski town makes me happy for the future.
Got back into the sport in my early 40's. Now 46 and my 14 year old son is now on a youth racing team.
I'm in my mid 40's. Honestly in my 20's I didn't have the cash for a decent bike, in my 30's I didn't have the time with little kids at home. In fact all of my friends and I have picked up MTBing in our 40s.
It’s the same as a Hopey damper. I believe they bought Hopey out.
Dentists generally are of advanced age, yes.
I got my first real mtb in 2000, but in my 20s and 30s I was so busy with other sports, school, and trying to establish a career that mountain biking just meant pedaling a bike in the woods to me. 6 or 7 years ago I suddenly recognized it as an actual sport - starting following the pros, taking clinics, traveling, racing, bikepacking, geeking out on tech, and watching endless content for inspiration. I’m thankful to have made it to the part of my life where I can really chase those amazing experiences that bikes facilitate. Stoked for you guys to take back the reins - I hope it’s a good thing for you! Erika, 40-something 😉
I'm 49, Always rode, but still trying to save for a decent bike. My kids are better riders than I ever was.
maybe it's for more older people but the jouth like me (14) is still growing, but it's very diffucult to keep on with the money for the broken parts you get.
Were i ride i only see younger people when there riding with there families. I see lots of 30 plus people. And the guys i ride with are in there 60s. Im 58 and still rock a full rigid Ritchey. Thanks for the great content.
Good riddance WBD!
#captioncontest "I like big...bikes and I cannot lie"
I "saw" Sam's video pop up on my feed and I kept putting of watching it. Finally watched it and was cringing the whole time waiting for something to go wrong...
I'm 42 and got into mountain biking a few years ago. I ride some guys in their 20s as well as some in their 60s. Some of the old guys have impressive speed and skills.
I’m 51 and shred on my Specialized turbo Levo. I plan to ride until I’m worm food.
Returning rider here too following spinal surgery 10yrs ago, now on the wrong side of 50. Interestingly, while I feel like I see predominantly more mature riders on the trail on my regular rides, a recent mini-enduro locally attracted a proportionally larger group of 18-30s, so maybe it’s still healthy at that end. Still too expensive though 💸
Are we saying Tahnee Seagrave is old?
#captioncontest "frodo and Sam in the new lord of the rides film" 😂
Ebikes are a hidden pandora's box . The controller , when damaged or stolen has to be replaced . Bicycle shops in my region are unable to pair replacement consoles with an existing motor and control circuit board . The circuit board and controller need to be matched overseas and supplied as a "SET" .Trek and Giant company owned stores haven't usually got the ability to match them unlike Shimano Di2 derailleurs which can be matched easily . A neighbour had his controller broken by vandals .The repair cost was over $1,500 , including labour for a $ 3,200 Australian MSRP Giant Talon e3+ .
Con: e-bikes aren’t allowed on a lot of trails, at least not in the US. I hope that changes because my next mountain bike will be electric if the access is there. I’m not getting any younger here and the hills are getting tougher.
WTF?!?!?!?!? "Steel coming back" ..... Even the most enlightened sometimes cannot see. Steels NOT coming back, Steel NEVER went anywhere m8!!!!! ITS ALWAYS BEEN THERE ...................... Just to set the record, am not a steely fanboi, haven't touched a steely since the mid 80's. But facts are facts.
What goes around comes back around. Steel is real, folks!
I’m 57, hadn’t been on a bike since I was 16 and discovered motorcycles. Two years ago I started leisure biking with the wife and it wasn’t long until wanted a mountain bike and I love it as I have lots of local trails…ironically those are the same trails that the fire police would chase me off of in the 70’s and now those fire trails are what we use to get to the machine made trails that cover the mountain.
im 54 and got back to it this year after 8 years.
Started at 68 now 72 Pacifica California
Love pilgrim, can you get him on the channel more ?.?
I'm 61 and last year did 3800 miles on the mtb. I can do that because I have the time and the money now that I am older. Older people do not have to have the time commitment of raising a family.
I think something missing from your show which could be a real help to mountain bikers in the UK, would be for you to go and review a different bike trail or trail centre each week. There's plenty here to choose from! You could design a rating system covering various attributes of mtb'ing so we can compare and decide where we'd like to go next.
56, my MTB is 21 but I mostly ride my fat bike off-road
